Last weekend (24-26 April) saw our products illuminating Silverstone with a brilliant display of high-performance auxiliary LED lighting in the punishing 2015 Dunlop 24 Hour Race.
Over one third of the 29 teams going head-to-head in this high-profile endurance race were equipped with night-piercing Lazer Lamps products - a factor that we believe was instrumental in securing multiple team wins throughout the classes, especially considering the spell of torrential rain through the Saturday night.
A highlight among these successes was the outstanding performance of the British manufacturer's flagship Triple-R lighting range. The Silverstone event marked the first time that this motorsport-focused product line had been used in an official endurance race since its launch.
In an impressive show of strength, the top two podium places were secured by teams running our products. Overall winner Beechdean Motorsport ran a light setup on its Aston Martin Vantage GT4 (Class 3) that included a Triple-R 750 Elite unit, while four laps behind in second place came Bas Koeten Racing's hard-charging Seat Leon Cup racer (Class 4) running a brace of Lazer ST-4 light units.
Fifth place overall went to works team Aston Martin Lagonda in another Aston Martin Vantage GT4 equipped with a pair of Triple-R 750 Elite lights. Meanwhile, team Red Camel - Jordans.nl was able to improve the night-time performance of its Seat Leon Cup racer and clinch a win in Class 5 after fitting the same setup during the weekend.
A special mention also goes to Team CHF500, which entered this gruelling race to raise money for the Children's Heart Foundation (https://www.justgiving.com/team-CHF500/) and finished a creditable 12th place overall in a specially prepared Porsche 968. We're not sure whether the pair of Lazer ST-8 light units or the car's pink-and-white colour scheme attracted more attention!
Our representatives were delighted with the interest expressed in the company's auxiliary lights over the course of the weekend. Buoyed by these results, we are anticipating another illuminating representation in the next 24-hour endurance event, which will take place at the infamous Nürburgring on 14-17 May.
